This month, our BJJ classes are focused on the subject of back mount. The back mount is one of the most prized positions in BJJ for three reasons: 1) It's one of the most effective offensive positions; 2) The back mount is very difficult to escape; 3) It's relatively difficult to attack an opponent that has your back, unlike other offensive positions such as mount or side control. In the pictures above is our 07:30 Monday morning NoGi class, where trainees worked on taking the back from turtle position, using the Granby roll technique to reguard from turtle without being trapped in back mount, and countering the Granby roll escape.
